Air Cooling Plastic Pelletizing Line

Water-Free Cooling
Forced-air cooling eliminates water baths, simplifying process and preventing pellet moisture issues.

Uniform Pellets
Precision pelletizer ensures consistent size, smooth surface, and dust-free finished plastic granules.

Intelligent Control
PLC system provides stable operation, accurate control, and reliable continuous production performance.

We present the Air Cooling Plastic Pelletizing Line, an innovative granulation system specifically engineered for processing heat-sensitive materials, highly filled masterbatches, and biodegradable plastics.

Unlike traditional water bath strand pelletizing systems, our line utilizes forced-air cooling technology, completely eliminating the water trough. As the molten polymer exits the die, it is cooled and solidified by specially designed high-volume, low-noise fans before being fed into the pelletizer.

The entire line is controlled by a PLC intelligent system, ensuring precise and stable operation. From the extruder and air cooling conveyor to the precision pelletizer, every component is meticulously calculated to provide you with uniform, dust-free, ready-to-use plastic pellets that require no drying.

Applications

Our Air Cooling Pelletizing Line excels in the following applications:

Bioplastics Pelletizing: Specifically for PLA, PBAT, and corn starch blends, avoiding viscosity drop or hydrolysis caused by water cooling .

PVC Compounding: Processing PVC cable compounds or rigid/flexible PVC, resulting in pellets with a smooth surface and no pores.

Highly Filled Masterbatch: Suitable for systems with high loading of Calcium Carbonate (CaCO₃), Talc, or flame retardants, preventing filler precipitation or pellet cracking caused by water.

Hot Melt Adhesives & Elastomers: Producing pellets from TPU, TPE, and EVA, using air cooling to maintain their soft characteristics .

Engineering Plastics Recycling: Recycling materials like ABS, PS, and HIPS to ensure high-purity pellets ready for direct injection molding or extrusion.

Advantages

Waterless Process, Energy Saving: Eliminates the water trough, dryer, and dewatering units. Compared to traditional water-cooled lines, it can reduce energy consumption by over 30%, enabling "produce and use directly" .

Ideal for Heat-Sensitive & Hygroscopic Materials: Using air as the cooling medium prevents direct contact between water and hot polymer melt, eliminating bubbles or degradation inside the pellets and ensuring stable mechanical properties.

Low Dust & High Uniformity: The specialized pelletizer design and stable cooling conveyor ensure smooth cut surfaces. The pellets exhibit excellent flowability, making downstream processing (injection/film blowing) smoother.

Intelligent Control, Easy Operation: An automated PLC system synchronously controls extrusion speed, cooling airflow, and pelletizing speed. One operator can manage the entire line, significantly reducing labor costs .

Modular Design, Simple Maintenance: The pelletizing chamber and conveyor feature a quick-release design. Cleaning for color changes or replacing blades takes only minutes, drastically reducing downtime .

FAQ

Q1: Does the air cooling method cool the pellets as effectively as water?
A1: Absolutely. Our system uses high-efficiency industrial fans arranged in a multi-stage cooling tunnel. While the cooling medium is air, the extended cooling path length and high air volume ensure the strands are completely solidified before entering the pelletizer, ensuring a clean cut without deformation .

Q2: How does this line handle color changes?
A2: Very efficiently. Since there is no water tank to drain and clean, color changes are much faster than traditional lines. The conveyor belt and pelletizer are designed with easy-access cleaning features, allowing you to switch colors in under 30 minutes, saving valuable production time.

Q3: What is the lead time and do you provide installation?
A3: The lead time is typically 30-45 days after order confirmation. We offer on-site installation guidance and commissioning services. Our engineers can travel to your factory to ensure the line operates perfectly from day one
